Cleopatra shared the throne with her younger brother-husband, Ptolemy XIII.
Her family, the former Cleopatras, ruled Egypt for more than 100 years before Cleopatra VII became pharaoh in .
The stories and myths regarding Cleopatra’s life inspired many books, movies, and plays. This includes the play by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet (also as originated from/to Antony and Cleopatra).
Mark Antony killed himself after hearing a false report that Cleopatra was dead. Cleopatra later found out Antony had died, and therefore committed suicide in 30 BC using the poisonous snake asp.

Why should future students learn about this individual?:
Queen Cleopatra's story can teach people the many ways of life in ancient times and what they had to do survive it.
She shows that people can also be so attached to someone or something that they would be willing to risk their life for it.
This story is credited by many people from the times around 30 BC all the way up to now in 2010 AD. As I compared a few passages I had read a long while ago to the ones I used for this file, I noticed that they are not much different from each other. Therefore showing that these for stories must be reliable resources.
